still not eating from a spoon {he's lazy like that}

picking things up and studies it {never sticks it in his mouth}

requiring a little more attention {likes to be held}

the best part of my day and sometimes the most work

Wow, can't believe my baby is 9 months already.  Time flies!

6 Months, already!

Wow, time flies. I can't believe Lola is already 6 months old. She is growing so fast.

She got two of her bottom teeth about two weeks ago, she's rolling over a lot, sleeping in her own room, giggling all the time and just adding so much joy to our home. She is also getting pretty chunky. She's up to 18 pounds, and it's all in her thighs. I am just in love with her little smile and sweet loves she gives to everyone she meets.

{except Tiff, for some reason she cries when Tiff holds her. I think it's just a fluke, but it's kind off become the family joke now. Poor Tiff, I promise it's not you!}

I'm so glad she's mine!!!!

Lola Rose, we are so glad you are a part of our lives, I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings for you.

Kids Say The Darndest Things!

So here's a few things heard around our house lately by Toms.  I need to post them otherwise I'll soon forget all this cuteness.

• When asked to clean up his toys, he looks at me and answers, "In a minute" while putting his fingers up and shaking it at me.
• While driving in Tyler's new car, "Daddy's Car Awesome".

• Last night I accidentally called someone an Idiot, he then repeated "Idiot...Idiot...Idiot".  Whoops on my part!

• "Mommy watch this!", followed by a silly face, a raspberry or him jumping on the couch.  He goes on with this game for about 10 to 15 times before I am able to stop watching.
• "No go home." Anytime we are out and about if he thinks the trip is coming to an end he starts to continually say this, even if I say we aren't and that we are going somewhere else.  He really doesn't like coming home.
• But then he will also say, "I'm Ready" anytime he wants to leave somewhere we are and he's ready to go home.  Make up your mind kid!
• His cousin taught him to say "That's Disgusting".  He said it about the chips we were taking to Sunday night dinner last night.  He obviously doesn't understand the meaning of it.
• "I toot", this is said ALL the time lately, then he will say "excuse me".  At least he's getting that part down.
• Anytime he doesn't get something he wants he starts to say "Please Mommy, PLEASE!    Please.......... mommy please......Ple-ase!"  It's so cute, but I'm usually pretty good about keeping my word.  He hates that!
• Anytime I'm on the computer or crafting he asks me, "Mommy Working?".                           
• In the mornings when he wakes up he crawls over the top of me and says "Mommy, Up!".  He continues to repeat this until I finally roll out of bed.
• Then when I walk into the bathroom to use the facilities he stands at the edge of the carpet until he works up the courage to run to the toilet to be next to me.  While he's walking briskly towards me he says "It's cold, it's cold!".  He is referring to the cold tile on his feet.  It's so cute!
• Anytime you ask him what color daddy's car is he reply's "Brown".  We are working so hard to get him to learn the color red, but nothing.  We think he may be color blind.
• When he is trying to go to the bathroom {#2}, if he's a little backed up he sits there and says "Push it out, push it out".  It's pretty hilarious!
• Last night we had an unopened 2 liter of Dr.Pepper sitting on the counter and he was asking for some juice.  When he saw that he started to ask for "Pepper".  Saying "I want Pepper, I want Pepper!".  Don't ask how he knows what that is.  We don't usually have that in the house, but it was leftover from the Super Bowl parties.  Smart kid!
• The other night we went to Culver's for dinner and he wanted some of "mommies juice".  So I gave him my cup and he took a sip then looked at me and asked "Root Beer?".  And yes, it was Root Beer!  

This is about all I can think of right now.  He is seriously talking so much, it's so fun to sit and actually have a conversation with him.  I can't believe how big and how fast he is growing up.  It's sad in a way but fun to watch all these new phases in his life.

Gone are the days...

so last night as we were sitting on the couch getting ready to calm down and go to bed.  Tyler was playing with Tommy Boy and noticed (what I've noticed a long time before) that his front teeth are starting to go a little bucky.  So we decided right then and there that it's time to say goodbye to the bink.  I had planned on doing it when he was two and since that is fast approaching, well we thought why wait?  

{Note: the flipping off of the middle finger, Kristy we are also teaching our kids early} His "Normal" routine was get his baba AND binky at the same time.  Lie on the couch in the same spot and down the baba then toss it to the side and insert binky.

We've only been giving it to him at sleeping times and church (to keep him quite and happy).  But last night Tyler just told him that the binky went bye bye.  It was a little hard getting him to fall back to sleep in the middle of the night.  He woke a couple of times whining for awhile, but I was able to rock him back to bed and he did ok.  Not great, just ok.  The main problem is that usually he falls asleep on the couch with Tyler then I take him and put him into his crib.  He usually stays asleep during this process but last night was out of routine without the binky so he woke right up(wanting the bink, of course).  Anyway, I tried to wait in the room for him to fall back to sleep but I was a bit impatient and just wanted to get some sleep myself, so he ended up in our bed ALL night.  Bummer!  This usually happens around 3 or so but I was tired.  Anyway, I'm afraid I'm going to need to spend some serious time letting him scream himself to sleep in his crib.  No binky and no Mommy.  That'll be a tough week!  Anyway, wish me luck in keeping with it.  Last night I almost gave in and just let him have the bink so he'd go back to sleep.  I hope I can keep my cool and not give in. 

So Bye, Bye Binky.  I'll miss you most of all!

Eating on his own.....well kinda!

So Toms thinks he's such a big boy starting to feed himself his own breakfast.  Lucky me right?The mess that comes from this is way more work to clean up then just taking the time to feed him myself.But I realize he needs to learn sometime, so no time like the present!  I mean he did just turn 21 months.  Holy Moly!  Time is FLYING by, can't believe he's getting so big.  Time please, please stop!!!

Other Happenings:

*On Friday I went to Bunko!  Yeah, so much fun!  Sarah hosted this month and did a  western Karaoke theme.  It was so darn cute!  And the singing was, well, karaoke!  Yehaw!

*I hosted my Digital Scrap booking Class at The Blissful Living Studio on Saturday morning.  It  was a fun success with 8 students that attended the class.  It's a big relief that that particular  class is over though.  It took awhile to figure out how I was going to get everything set up, but  it ended up working out great and now I know what to expect when I teach this class again.  So  if you weren't able to join us, then make sure and sign up for one in the future!

*This past weekend we went to dinner with some friends in our ward in an effort to get to know  each other a little better.  We hit our FAVORITE dinner spot, Cafe Boa on Mill Ave.  The  evening was tons of fun but we were sad that THESE friends could not join us.  The stomach flu  is no fun!!!  Next time for sure!  But thanks for the fun conversation and can't wait to do it  again!  next time you get to choose the fun restaurant!

*Then, later that night after a little grocery shopping.  Molly called and her and Tangie came  over to hang out a bit.  It was so fun having some visitors so late in the evening.  They knew I'd  be up to keep them company.  I got all my beads out to play a little and help them make some  fun bracelets.  It's so addicting.  Anytime you guys want to join me and keep me company I  would love to have you come and play!

*Sunday went as usual.  It's Nursery for us now.  We both got called to serve there a couple of  weeks ago and it's lots of crazy fun!  Got to love snacks in the middle of church!

*I am now dubbed the ice cream maker at my in-laws house.  Last Sunday they had me make  some ice cream for dessert and they loved it so much that they had me make it again this  weekend.  I guess that can be my thing, it's fun to make and oober yummy!

*Also on Sunday, we Celebrated our 6th Anniversary.  and by celebrated I mean we went to  church and then had dinner at my in-laws.  Fancy, I know!  That's how we roll.... I guess!

*We went swimming today with These friends and These friends.  Thanks for the invit!  I still  haven't showered!  oops!  Go HERE for some fun pics of the activity!

*We got our V.T.ing done!  nothing like waiting till the last minute!  Go us!

*Tonight we went to Target to return a skirt that I foolishly bought in Cali.  Spur of the  moment spending.  and I needed to go to Michael's to pick up a few things for a project I am  working on.  Then we had dinner at Panda, yum!  Toms loves the chow mein!!!  We tied to go  to Spinato's but sadly found out that they are not open on Mondays.  Suck!  I was really in the  mood for a Spaghetti Calzone.  It is sooo dang good, I highly recommend the drive to try it!
